Delete account
You delete your anyup account yourself in the app. If you can't use the app, you can do it by email.
In the app
This works as long as you can use the app. If your account is suspended or you have not finished setting up your profile after signing up, the app does not show these steps. In that case, use the email route below.
- Open the “Profile” tab.
- Tap “Account & Privacy”.
- At the very bottom, tap “Delete account”.
- Read what happens and tap “Continue”.
- Confirm with “Yes, delete account”.
If you want a copy of your data, first go to “Account & Privacy” and tap “Export my data”. After deletion, an export is only possible if you restore the account.
What happens when you delete
You are signed out immediately. From that moment, your account is invisible to others and anonymised: your own upcoming activities are cancelled, and your chat messages appear as “Deleted account”.
For 7 days, you can undo the deletion by signing in again. After that, it is final.
Restoring brings back your account with your profile, photos and settings, along with blocks in both directions. Your relationships with others do not come back, that is participations, requests, invitations, friendships and reviews. Your cancelled activities and a confirmed business profile do not come back either.
After a restore, all notifications are off until you turn them back on yourself.
Some data is kept longer, each for its own reason:
- If you verified your identity, the non-reversible fingerprint of your ID document is kept for 6 months. This way, a suspension cannot be bypassed with a new account.
- We keep your consents for 6 months as proof that you gave them.
- A moderation case, for example about a report concerning you, remains until moderation has closed it, and is deleted 6 months later. This way, a report does not come to nothing just because an account was deleted.
- What our team did to your account or your support cases in the admin tools stays in the internal log for 12 months, without the text of your messages. This keeps it traceable who in the team did what.
You can read more in the Privacy Policy.
Without the app, by email
Use this route if you can't use the app. It also works for suspended accounts and for accounts whose profile is not set up yet.
Send an email to support@anyup.app from the address your account is signed in with. Say that you want to delete your account.
We then send a request for confirmation to your account's address. Your request only counts once you have confirmed it from that inbox. This way, nobody can have someone else's account deleted.
Processing takes no more than 30 days from your confirmation.
We then delete your account the same way as in the app. You can undo this deletion too for 7 days by signing in again.
A suspension stays in place. If you restore a suspended account within the 7 days, it is still suspended.
If you signed in with Apple and chose “Hide My Email”, anyup only knows Apple's relay address, and that is the address meant here. You can find it on your iPhone under “Settings” → your name → “Sign in with Apple” → “anyup”. Without an iPhone, you can see the apps you signed in to with Apple on a Mac under “System Settings” → your name → “Sign in with Apple”, or in a browser on account.apple.com under “Sign-In & Security” → “Sign in with Apple”. Send your request from the inbox Apple forwards to, and include the relay address and, if you have already entered one, the first name on your profile. We use the first name to check that we found the right account. Your sign-in method and first name alone are not enough, because we can only find an account by its exact address. The request for confirmation goes to the relay address, and Apple forwards it to your inbox.
