Terms of Service

Draft: this text has not yet been legally reviewed.

Draft. This text shows the planned structure of the Terms of Service, not its final wording.

1. Scope

These terms apply to everyone who uses anyup with an account. The provider and your contracting party is Varatharajan Solutions, Kriens, Switzerland (details in the legal notice). The contract is formed when, on sign-up, you confirm that you are at least 18 years old and accept these terms.

2. Description of the service

anyup connects adults for small, spontaneous group activities. anyup is not a dating app and does not organize the activities itself. Hosts are the users.

anyup only puts users in touch with each other. anyup does not organize, supervise or check any activity, meeting point or participant. Whoever hosts is responsible for their own activity.

3. Requirements for use

  • Minimum age 18
  • Successful identity verification before the first action (request, create, chat)
  • Truthful information in your profile

You may only use anyup if you are at least 18 years old. Your identity may only be linked to one account. Before you act in the app, for example by sending a request or creating an activity, the app asks you to confirm your identity: with your ID and a selfie, or through the path “confirmed by people” described in the privacy policy. The app shows you before each action which level it requires. Hosting always requires the check with your ID. The information in your profile must be true, and your photos must show you.

4. Rules of use

The Community Guidelines apply in addition to your conduct in the app. They are part of these terms. The version published on anyup.app applies; for changes, section 11 applies.

5. Content and user contributions

What you post in anyup, such as titles, descriptions, photos and chat messages, remains yours. You grant anyup the free, non-exclusive right to store this content and to show it to the people who may see it in the app, to the extent needed to run anyup. This right ends when the content is deleted. After an account is deleted, its chat messages stay in the chat without your name until the chat is deleted.

You only post content to which you hold the necessary rights and which breaches neither applicable law nor the Community Guidelines. anyup does not check content in advance, but may remove content that breaches these terms (section 6).

6. Reporting, blocking, and measures

Violations can lead to restrictions, suspensions, or content removal. Every measure is decided by a human, never automatically. A report alone never leads to a measure.

A restriction lasts 7 or 30 days and ends by itself. While it lasts, you can neither send requests nor create activities nor write in chats; everything else remains available. A suspension applies indefinitely until it is lifted. In the app you can see your measures with their type, period and reason. You are not told who reported you.

You can appeal a restriction or suspension in the app, even while suspended. A human decides on the appeal. You receive the answer in the app; if we reject the appeal, we tell you the reason. For other decisions, such as removed content, you can write to us through a support case in the app.

7. Availability and changes to the service

Using anyup is free of charge. There is no entitlement to any particular availability or to particular features. anyup may interrupt the service for maintenance, develop it further, and change or discontinue features. If anyup shuts the service down entirely, we will inform you beforehand so that you can export your data in the app.

8. Liability

You take part in activities and meetups voluntarily and at your own responsibility. anyup is not liable for the conduct of other users, for how activities go, or for any damage that occurs at meetups outside the app. Identity verification only confirms that an ID document is genuine and matches the person; it is no guarantee of anyone's behaviour.

Otherwise, anyup's liability is excluded to the extent permitted by law. Liability for intent and gross negligence remains unaffected.

If third parties bring claims against anyup because you have breached these terms or applicable law, you indemnify anyup against them, to the extent permitted by law.

9. Termination and account deletion

You can delete your account at any time in the app. Details on timing and effect are in the privacy policy.

The contract runs for an indefinite period. You terminate it by deleting your account under “Account & Privacy”. The deletion takes effect immediately. For 7 days you can undo it by signing in again; after that it is final and the contract ends. If you can no longer use the app, the Delete account page describes the route without the app.

For a breach of these terms or the Community Guidelines, anyup only ends your use of the service if the breach is serious or repeated. This is done by a suspension under the procedure in section 6: a human decides, you see the suspension in the app, and you can appeal.

10. Governing law and jurisdiction

11. Final provisions

anyup may change these terms. Each version carries a version number. If a change is material, the new version requires your consent: before your next action, the app shows you the changed points, and you can act again only after you consent. Browsing remains free. If a change is not material, the app points it out to you once without stopping you. If you do not consent to a material change, you can delete your account (section 9).

If any provision of these terms is invalid, the remaining provisions remain valid. It is replaced by a provision that comes as close as possible to its purpose.

12. Contact

Which route fits which request is explained on the support page. If you do not have an account, you can reach us using the details in the legal notice.
